Aims & Objectives:
The students get an opportunity to understand and appreciate the topics in their curriculum from different perspectives when they are dealt by expert guest lecturers from other colleges. Keeping the same in view, a guest lecture on the topic of Dhoumya Dharmopadesamu, written by Tikkana, has been organized.
Report:
The guest lecture on Thikkana’s Dhoumya Dharmopadesamu was held in the Virtual class room at 2.00 pm on 15.12.2021. The programme was presided over by Smt. Ch. Ramanamma, the Principal of the college. In her address, she expressed the view that guest lectures provide an opportunity to the students to look at and understand the topics in their curriculum from different perspectives. Dr. K. Sujatha, Government lecturer in Telugu, who delivered the guest lecture, explained various special characteristics of Tikkana’s poetic works. She cited the examples of various poems in Mahabharatha so as to demonstrate the dramatic and alchemistic features of Tikkana’s works. She discussed the seva dharma explained by Dhoumya to the Pandavas. Dr. N. Vijayalakshmi, Telugu Lecturer, participated in the programme. 38 students attended the guest lecture.
Outcome:
By attending the guest lecture, the students were able to acquire good knowledge regarding the characteristics of Tikkana’s poetic works and the seva dharma explained by Dhoumya to the Pandavas.
