HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Chemistry was established in 1966 which is biggest department .. UG Courses were started in 1966 with M.P.C, in 1998 M.Z.C (Microbiology, Zoology, Chemistry) and in 2014 BZC & MCCs (Maths, Chemistry, Computer Science) has been started . In 2020 B.H.C ( Botany, Horticulture and Chemistry), in 2022 M.BT.C ( Micro biology, Bio-technology and Chemistry has been started.

The department has three sanctioned posts.

The Department has been reputed with well -qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty members whose excellent contribution has been rendered in teaching, book –writing and research activities, besides motivating the students for their academic excellence.

The Department is equipped with well established laboratories for doing practical’s for UG Students and for doing research.

The staff members are encouraging and giving guidance to the students in doing mini projects by arranging field trips.

The staff members took the students to field trips in the form of visiting industries every year so that they came to know about new technology and increase their practical knowledge.

Dr.S.Mutta Reddy financially supported in digging of Bore well in college campus for drinking water purpose in 2016.

. The staff of the Department participated in many National seminars, workshops, and conferences and presented papers.

The Dept. staff giving coaching to M.Sc., Chemistry for IIIB.Sc., students many of them got seats for M.Sc., Chemistry in Universities.

Conducting guest lecturesin the subject from outside college staff to enrich their knowledge.

To educate and prepare the young students in various fields like education, research, analytical skills and motivating the students for their academic excellence by providing quality and value-based education. To promote the analytical knowledge of the student in accordance with the demands of the present world and fill the gap between industries and education.

To organize Field visits to the Agro labs, Dairies, Hydro Electrical Power Projects, Oil Refining Units.
